Top 10 cities for tech workers
While Silicon Valley remains the top tech hub, a new study shows nine other metro areas offering the best job markets for tech workers—and the results may surprise you.
You relocate for a variety of reasons: family, adventure, but let’s face it, usually for work. When the right opportunity is in another city, sometimes you just have to go out and grab it—and if you work in tech, you might want to get ready to pack your bags for a city that you weren’t expecting.
Of course, you’ll find plenty of good tech jobs just about everywhere you look at the top companies hiring on Monster right now. But if you really want to pinpoint exactly where the best tech jobs are, you’ve come to the right place. Real estate and investment firm CBRE just released its annual analysis, ranking the top cities for tech talent, based on factors such as available tech jobs, workers with tech degrees, average apartment rent, and momentum of growth.
As expected, the San Francisco Bay Area comes in first, while Atlanta and Toronto both come as welcome surprises to the list, with the low cost of office space and low cost of living helping them round out the top 10.
